November is quite a busy month for ICHC Izhevsk. This is a month of preparation for a big Christmas Project for 1400 orphans and needy families of Izhevsk. We are making stage decorations, having costumes sewed, preparing the musical play and dances – our volunteers are non professional, but they sacrifice their time and efforts to take part in it. We bought candy and now our volunteers started forming (packing) gifts for orphans.
Besides, we are busy with current projects – helping needy families with food, clothes, toys, diapers and formula for babies (we helped 32 families in November, including a family who has a sick kid we bought meds for, and two orphan boys whom we bought glasses for).
Also we have two support groups for women in difficult life situation, and a Club for foster parents and adopted kids who work with Christian psychologists who try to help them solve problems in raising a stepchild.
Plus we are very interested in having volunteers working with orphans – such a ministry that takes place every week, is really important: our volunteers are like friends, brothers and sisters for orphans, they can listen to them, give a piece of advice, help, etc. We pray that this ministry grows.
