ICHC news in August 2021
Far from normal in Izhevsk, even in August summer is still going on and it’s quite warm, even hot. Despite the lovely weather, many people are still in need here and find themselves in difficult life situations. In this case, ICHC is ready to help!
In the beginning of the month we restarted our project of helping needy families, (people raising many kids, and young parents many of whom themselves from the orphanage system of Udmurtia). 17 families in those categories received support with big sets of basic food products, household & hygiene items, diapers for babies and school supplies.
Helping needy is a chance to share God’s truth with them. People are more open when they feel vulnerable and need support. Galina Alieva receives people twice a week and each time she speaks to them, it is a moment of trust and comfort. We really hope this kind of support draws people closer to God and helps them put their life in God’s order.
Summer is also the time to prepare for our charitable Christmas project. Even if winter and Christmas time are rather far from the present moment, it is wise to plan the big event in advance.
The ICHC theatre group that unites very different people from different churches all across Izhevsk has started the preparations. The team has kept gathering twice a month during the summer to discuss the plot, props, costumes and all of the details of future performances. They generate ideas for music and choreography as well. We all would like to make the miracle of Christmas come to every family and each child living in Izhevsk!
It is such a big joy to be part of this ministry for so many people from different churches of Izhevsk, that many would like to participate even when it seems so early to start. Also it’s an honor to present the love of the Lord our Father and the good message of Christ’s birth to thousands of citizens of Izhevsk who might not have heard of it before!
We are so grateful to every team member! And thankful to those who support this ministry from abroad financially and in prayer!
